All Viking Band parents, guardians, supporters and enthusiasts are cordially invited to become a Viking Band Booster member (and make a tax-deductible donation!) Volunteering is not required to become a member BUT if you are interested in volunteering, we will have many fun and important opportunities throughout the school year!
The Viking Band Boosters Club provides a vital role helping band students and directors. We promote the band program, greater parental involvement (organizational/chaperoning) and raise funds to meet the needs of the band program that are not fully funded by FBISD. Funds raised are applied toward student scholarships, contest entry fees, clinicians, guest artists, special event/performances, transportation, meals, music purchases, instruments, equipment, and various other needs.

You don’t need to become a paid VBB member to volunteer! Parent/guardian volunteers are essential to our band program, and we would love for you to become more involved in supporting your student’s band experience.
To be notified of volunteer opportunities:
- Ensure that your email address is updated in Charms.
- FBISD requires all adults to undergo a free background check in order to volunteer with any organization. Adults are not allowed to be with DMS Band students without a completed background check. It only takes a minute to fill out this short form, and you should receive approval within a week from FBISD. Click the link below. It expires every year on June 30th, so you’ll need to renew next summer as well. FBISD Background Check (Required)
- We request volunteers based on need using SignUp Genius as an event draws near.
